Hello Indivisibles,

We are planning an event in the Islands for NO KINGS 2 on October 18th.  It has two parts:

There will be a “No Kings – Let Freedom Ring” car/truck caravan through the Islands, going to all five towns, starting in Alburgh and ending in South Hero Village.  

At the same time, there will be a rally at the ending point of the caravan in South Hero Village.

The caravan will join the protesters at the rally in South Hero and at noon, we will be ringing bells.  Then we will gather for nosh and socializing.

The exact times, route, and hub locations where you can join the caravan, are still being ironed out and we will let you know next week.  The plan is for the caravan to set out from Alburgh and there will be a couple of ‘hubs’ where you can join the caravan, if you live further along the route.  If you are joining at a ‘hub’, you would be out with your protest signs while you await the arrival of the caravan.

A rough idea of timing, subject to change as we work out details:

Caravan leaves Alburgh at 10:30 am.  Caravan arrives in South Hero Village at 11:45 am.

At noon, we all gather for a ceremony to ring bells for Freedom.

So, you can choose to be in the caravan or just the protest rally in South Hero.

If you are in the caravan, plan to decorate your car/truck or put a flag on it and hopefully have a bell to ring as we pass through the Islands.  

We will have some premade signs for protesters in South Hero, or bring your own.  

WE NEED BELLS!!   WE NEED BELLS!!  We have a couple but we would really like to have more.  So, think?  Do you have one on your boat?  For a band?  Out in the shed?  By your front door?  Do you know someone with a bell that we could borrow for a day??  

SIGN PAINTING VOLUNTEERS:  SUNDAY, OCTOBER 12TH, 3:00-5:00 AT THE GRAND ISLE FIRE STATION CONFERENCE ROOM.  We will be creating a series of signs on the theme: “This Is Fascism” for NO KINGS 2.  We will provide materials for volunteers to trace out and paint the signs.  Please come on Sunday Oct. 12 to help make the signs!  If you have been part of the small but mighty sign-making team in the past, we hope you will be able to come and help again.  And we hope that other Indivisibles will step up to help,too.  No artistic skills are needed for this session; just a steady hand, a sense of humor and your time.
