July 25, 2025
Hello Indivisibles,
Paddles Without Borders:
Sunday, July 27, 1:00 to 3:00, at the Blue Paddle Bistro in South Hero
Remember to join us for this fun, social event to renew our bonds of friendship with our Canadian neighbors and oppose Trump’s damaging actions toward Canada. (Note: this is an outdoor event. In case of rain, the rain date will be August 3, same time/place.) Be sure to invite your Canadian neighbors and friends who may not have seen the notices.
T-shirts and Mugs with our logo will be available at the Paddles Without Borders event. There is a minimum cash donation (t-shirst, $15; mugs $8).
Note: cash only. Limited supply.
Other Events:
Indivisible Champlain Islands does not have any other events scheduled for the next couple of weeks. We are working on some things after that.
However, other Vermont Indivisible groups have events you may wish to attend. Also, other organizations that are resisting Trump’s agenda and his attempts to dismantle our government are constantly hosting protest events, too. You may want to join some of them, as well. You can find many of these events on Mobilize.us. They have events listed in St. Albans, Milton, South Burlington, Burlington and beyond. Or you can follow specific causes by watching websites such as Migrantjustice.net, 50501vermont.com, etc.
The resistance to this authoritarian take-over attempt is growing all across the country. Indivisible adds 5-10 new groups every day. Other resistance movements are appearing and growing. We will join with other movements whenever there is an opportunity for us to make a difference. We will grow our movement and form a huge coalition for change.
We cannot possibly keep track of all of the actions happening in our area or across the country, but we will do our best to help you DO SOMETHING that will actually fix things. There are upcoming coordinated nation-wide actions being planned by Indivisible and our partner movements. Stay tuned.
ONE MILLION RISING is the 3 session training program that Indivisible has created to prepare us for the next stage in our struggle against Trump. While we will be continuing to hold protest events, mass, nationwide demonstrations, put pressure on elected officials, etc., we will be adding a new, powerful form of resistance to strip power away from this Administration and weaken it. I urge you to please attend these online training sessions. If you missed the first one, you can watch it at Indivisible.org. You can also sign up for the next two sessions there. The next session is Wednesday, July 30 at 8:00 pm. If you cannot make it at that time, it will be available after Wednesday, again at Indivisible.org.
WISH LIST:
We are looking for some talented people to help out in a couple of key roles.
We need someone to work with our many volunteers and volunteer groups. If you are great with people and good at organizing and making things happen, we could really use some of your time and talent. We need someone to be a resource for groups to help them do things like establish new groups, choose a leader, find a place to meet, plan actions, recruit new volunteers, liaison with Leadership, etc.
We are also looking for a person to handle publicity for us. For instance, when we hold an event, we need someone who schedules when and where the notices will appear, creates or helps to create ads, press releases, flyers, etc. Someone who actually sends out the notices. Puts the event on Mobilize and 50501vermont. Etc. Right now, we have different people stepping in to do different parts of this job for different events. But no one has been coordinating it. It has been rather chaotic with each event. It would be so helpful if we had one person who oversaw this and made sure things happened when they are supposed to. There may be someone else who actually does graphics or comes up with text for notices, but all coordinated by one person. If you have marketing experience, or experience working with tv and press, and would be willing to volunteer some time and talent, please reach out. You may be able to help us.
One last note: We are trying to put these newsletters up on our website. If you misplace one and what to check back for info, you should be able to find it there now. And it’s fun to look at all the pictures of our events! Check out the Gallery.
Have a great weekend. I hope to see you on Sunday.
